I've become more mindful of how much and how long I spend sitting during the day, and I find myself in the habit of sitting while I read, write, watch YouTube videos, play video games, etc. Even though these things can be performed while standing. Of course, standing more often is good for your physical health, but did you know it's also good for your mental health? In 2011, a study was performed comparing standing vs. sitting while working. The study showed that 87% of people who started using standing desks felt more comfortable and energized after 7 weeks of use. And 71% felt more focused. 66% felt more productive, and 62% felt happier.

Another study was done on the overall health of 100,000 Americans who typically sit for more than 6 hours a day. These people were found to be more prone to cardiovascular disease than those who sit for less than 3 hours a day. Seems like doing 20 minutes of cardio every day isn't quite enough to prevent heart disease!
