Did you know that cats are scared of cucumbers?

Exactly, that's why I said not to post any videos of it in post 2 and I'm surprised you tried it with your cat.

Imagine how it feels to go from blissfully happy to jumping out of your skin in about a millisecond. Not pleasant at all.
Retro, were did you get the impression I have tried this 'trick' in stealth?
I made it quite clear in my answer that he saw me placing the damn vegetable and was totally unfazed by it.

Well, I've now read your post again and can see that wasn't clear as you didn't say either way. Given the context of this thread, it's implied that it was stealthy and I'm so glad you didn't do that. Yeah, cats aren't bothered by cucumbers as such, most large objects would cause that reaction if done stealthily.

ok, don't you worry, Retro, I'd never tease my cat, I'd never tease any animal, I love them too much.

Indeed, what we see as silly or stupid, in their simple minds it's all terribly serious and they don't understand humour.

Thinking about it, the cucumber scare is a practical joke and I never like them done to anyone.

When it's a joke at one's expense, it's no longer a joke. It's a shitty game.

Indeed. Animals don't understand humour; what seems lighthearted to us, is a fact of life for them, and if it does not feel right for them they get scared.
