I don't actually underestimate Elon. No matter if you're for or against him, the dude IS able to pull considerable weight with the things he does and what he has. With basically infinite money and tech at his disposal his party could eat away quite some votes from the Republicans, regardless of whoever will be their main candidate the next elections.

But here's the thing: most votes he'll snatch away from Republicans, from Democrats probably not so many. Meaning that Elon participating in what would normally be a two-way race but then a three-way race would increase the Democrats' odds to win considerably.

And you know what, the man has a point. It's funny how the government went from "we will look into the Epstein files" to essentially "there is no Epstein list, stop asking questions" within just a couple of months.

Something's up. Please don't take me for an Elon fan, it would go too far to call me that, but I'm starting to root just a little bit for him in the regard of exposing the government's darkest secrets.

I've long thought that associating Trump with pedophilia, whether true or not, could have broken his spell over his cult followers and comprehensively lost him that election so that it wasn't possible to rig it like they did as it was close, but unfortunately no one did it.

All that was needed was a dodgy cartoon of him having sex with a young boy and a slogan saying something like "Trump the Pedo" spread all over social media and the idea could have taken hold and put off his cult followers. Then, the more he denied it, the guiltier he'd have looked putting him in a no-win situation, no proof required, just like the many lies that he tells every day. It wouldn't be playing fair, but he never has, using his wealth and power to evade justice at every turn, so why shouldn't anyone else? It would then have saved America and the world from his tyranny. Whether that could be enough to oust him today, I have my doubts.

Well, I can say 1 thing I approve of in the Trump Administration: they’re advocating for career tech programmes, which imo are under-rated (and if only employees would be more positive of - there’s an abundance of candidates which means those without degrees are unfortunately overlooked with the competition), over traditional university degrees.

Kids are ditching traditional college for career tech programs. Parents are concerned.

There's an emerging generational divide on attending college after high school.

I had to Google them..... The results are, let's say, a bit creepier than I previously remembered.
Calling your daughter pretty on occasion is one thing -- because she is -- but going on and on about specific body parts and what he might do if he wasn't her father are inappropriate to say the least.

That's a fair question @AllThingsTech, but it's best to leave them there as they're in the context of the rest of the thread and existed before the Musk thread.

Unfortunately, it can happen quite often that a post or subject can belong equally in more than one thread, so a judgement call has to be made for which one to put it in. It's not usually critical anyway as this is all casual conversation.

That's a good rule of thumb there to let the weighting help with the judgement of where it should go. I've also got a separate Ukraine war thread, but tend to post Ukraine updates in the Trump thread now as he's intimately part of fucking everything up for them, as we constantly see.
