As for the thread.... just leave it open. We have 4 years of Trump coming up, and I can promise you he'll be stepping on his tool well before the first year is done.

Oh, stop it! 🤣 Yeah, he's obsessed enough with those, isn't he?

Ya, indeed not gonna close it. We can just keep calling him out on his transgressions and corruption as time goes on.

I remember when Biden beat him in 2020, I saw how Trump was down, but always had the uneasy feeling that he wasn't out since he remained defiant, refusing to concede the election, even to this day, and that he would run for the next one and quite possibly get back in and be even worse. Alas, my worst fears have now come true as it has done for all the like-minded people who saw right through him. The only small consolation is that all the millions of numpties who supported and voted for him are gonna suffer the same as us when he screws us all over. They get what they so richly deserve and I'll have no sympathy for them.

Here's a depressing article on how all 4 criminal cases against Trump are now going to go away. Talks have already started in fact, barely a day after he won.

I really wanted to see him get nailed for his crimes, especially the horrendous Jan 6 one which I saw unfold live on CNN. What a tragic disappointment.

Donald Trump will be the first president to take office while several criminal cases against him are pending.

His ascent to the highest office in the US while facing dozens of criminal charges has left the country in uncharted territory.

Many of his legal problems will go away when he steps into the White House. Discussions already have started between Trump's team and the office overseeing federal cases about how to wind those down, according to the BBC's US news partner CBS.

Here's a look at what could happen with each of the four legal challenges he faces.

Here's The Guardian's take on this.

Glenn Kirschner's take on this election disaster: what does this mean for democracy?

FYI Glenn often appears as a guest on Brian Tyler Cohen's videos with solid legal advice and opinion.

Glenn Kirschner explains how the criminal trials against Trump could be paused* until after he leaves office by having Trump corruptly dismiss them rather than Jack Smith dismissing them which would prevent them ever being brought against Trump again. Alas, I suspect he's gonna do the latter, likely under pressure from Trump now that he's more powerful than ever.

*Given Trump's age of 78, he could die beforehand, or go senile, both of which would effectively cancel the cases. One way or another, I don't think he's ever gonna be held to account. So depressing to see how this criminal took on the American justice system and won.

Here you go, Trump is already Putin's bitch. I always said he's Putin's useful idiot and here's the proof. Ukraine is so screwed.

Vladimir Putin did not come running. He let his spokesman react on Wednesday to the outcome of the U.S. presidential race, proclaiming that the Kremlin has no plans to congratulate Donald Trump on his victory. If the U.S. wants the peace deal Trump promised during his campaign, the Russians signaled that he would need to earn it, and the price for Ukraine would be particularly high.

“The message is, if you want a deal, you’re going to crawl on your knees for it,” says Nina Khrushcheva, an authority on Russian politics and foreign affairs at the New School. “Putin feels he is starting out with Trump from a position of strength.”

This video explains in more detail the threat posed to democracy by Trump and how that he's been possibly compromised by Putin. Judging by the way Putin is talking about and to him, it certainly looks that way.

Now it's all too late, some maga loyalists are beginning to realise that they've been conned. Oh dear.

I'm late to the party as usual, so sorry I have not fully read all the informative posts. But I'd like to put my view up here and see how folks respond. I've already posted this view on another forum. Background: Until around Nov 7 I was strongly democrat (even as a UK citizen)

I am actually coming around to why so many American people voted Trump. Ok he is an odious, lying, racist, misogynist rogue, but he can market himself and he has charisma and Americans are fed up of their current lot, especially cost of living, and rightly or not, the perception is less war and a better economy under Trump. And who knows, I just would like to believe he can stop the Russia / Ukraine war.

Anybody notice how tired he looks in his recent videos? And he had the temerity to comment on Sleep Joe? Hell, he's not much better in that aspect. There are ample videos of his quick naps during his appearances. I think he may not quite understand what taking a power nap means.
He went around 60 days without a day off during final part of campaigning, often doing two meets per day but ending with 3 meets and final day 4 meets, usually flying between venues, he is 78 and you mention how tired he looks. Guess you were right there.

Dunno quite where to put this post, but I'm sure as hell not starting a new thread for it, so plumped for here.

Musk is really taking people for fools and from the looks of it, he's right to do so as I'm sure he's gonna get flooded with applications. He's offering:

Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are asking Americans who are “high-IQ small-government revolutionaries” and willing to work over 80 hours a week to join their new Department of Government Efficiency – at zero pay.

So, the world's richest man and the world's biggest government, which has a budget in the trillions, are petty and small minded enough to expect people to slog their guts out for no pay?! That's staggering, unbelievable. How are people supposed to make ends meet? Yet, many mugs will come, sigh.

Note that he's not offering any kind of eventual payoff of a great job, investments or other opportunities, either. Nah, just slave away for 80 hours a week for nothing. What a bargain, how do I apply?!

I think musk and his cronies are actually making a point here, since I believe that what they really want are small/weak-minded people who are easily manipulated and can be used, abused, then thrown under a bus and discarded whenever they want without legal repercussions. Anyone in that enormous MAGA crowd should do lol, that's about half the US population then.

@Mars @Tiffany this one is especially for yourselves to facepalm at.

Agreed, there's something very very wrong here, reflecting this whole crooked election. Check out this post that I've just made:

Trump appoints pro Russian Tulsi Gabbard as his intelligence chief. Yup, you read that right. I wonder who's side she's gonna really be on, who's side is Trump really on? The West is in for a whole heap of trouble, with the downfall of Ukraine the tip of the iceberg.

Trump's presidency is gonna drag down all our lives and it wouldn't surprise me if he somehow beats the Constitution's amendment 22 to serve a third term and beyond. Not so far fetched when you see how he beat the 14th amendment, section 3 which clearly disqualified him from holding office ever again and now look, he's fucking president again with a dodgy win and so openly corrupt this time.

Donald Trump’s choice of Tulsi Gabbard as his intelligence chief is an “alarming” move given her history of support for Russia, British defence figures have said.

On Wednesday, the president-elect nominated Ms Gabbard to be his director of national intelligence, a role overseeing America’s 18 intelligence agencies.

Ms Gabbard, 43, has repeated Russian propaganda over Ukrainian “biolabs”, backed Moscow’s case for war, and met twice with Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad after dismissing reports about his use of chemical weapons.

Her appointment has sparked concern over potential reductions in intelligence-sharing across the Five Eyes alliance.

Why is everyone who doesn't believe in sending endless streams of money to facilitate more killing a Russian asset?

Dodgy win, popular vote, White House, The Senate and The House, not sure how that is a dodgy win, it does show the population majority were not happy with the last 4 years.

Wot? She's pro Putin, how is that not a red flag for you? What other explanation does that need? I mean, seriously.

I explained my suspicions in the thread below, so perhaps you haven't seen my comments yet, hence I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on that one. Read this post and then read the ones I've linked to there for the full context.

I know, it's not going to make any difference to you and we just continue going round in circles, but at least I've shown you and others can see what it's like trying to reason with someone who's been fully brainwashed into Trump's MAGA cult, like all the many other posts you've made on here. Seriously, just look at the latest news headlines for all the dodgy people that he's appointing. What more evidence do you need? I'm sure you'll just brush it off as "lefty media" or similar as you're in such denial, but not much I can do about that other than put the evidence in front of you and hope that reality eventually dawns on you.

Finally, as I said to you months ago, it's not that you've won and I've lost. No, we've ALL lost now Trump's in power again. Me, you, you're other half and especially everyone who lives in America and isn't one of the Chosen Few, the ultra rich like Elon Musk. Time will prove this to you, although I expect you'll just keep coming back with excuses other than Trump for why things are worse. I wish the penny would just drop for you, I really do. Check out this video for Glenn Kirshner's explanation of what's coming, especially his comment right at the end about us little people waiting in line for toilet paper and see if perhaps that begins to worry you, maybe start to have doubts, at least just a little bit.

OMG talking about a red flag? I see not one but many many red, blood stained flags. It is so so obvious.

Watching this video with Glenn Kirshner is truly frightening, he knows what he is talking about, and what he is talking about is blood curdling.
It is beyond me how people can turn a blind eye to a grinning monster looming darkly over Liberty and Freedom.
This is the stuff of nightmares.
We should just hope that as Kirshner says, we may find some light in the approaching darkness.

Seems like recently there is a groundswell of MAGA believers that are starting to realize that they got sold a pig in a poke.

Yeah, I've been seeing that from YouTubers like BTC. Yeah, great, but it's all a bit too late now, isn't it? Unless the election is proved fraudulent and Harris is made president (fat chance) we're all screwed. At least we get to point a finger and loudly tell them "we told you so!" over and over again. I won't hesitate.

Ahhhh, that's music to my ears!!! Amen to that; and may that groundswell become a proper tidal wave.

Here's a video documenting that groundswell. I just love the repeated slightly sarcastic "I told you so" comments from the presenter as he shows the various complaints of these MAGA supporters and talks about them. In the end though, it's a tragedy for us all other than the privileged few in Trump's orbit.
