The United States is infested with climate change deniers, a political waste of time that helps no one but the fossil fuel industry. The earth’s climate is changing quickly, in 40 years time I expect the earth to be a very different planet.

Yeah, I had one of those on here not too long ago who tried to blame it on the moon "spiraling into the earth", I kid you not! Check out the post on this very thread, below. I had to ban him because of his stinking attitude towards me in the end, not because of his funny ideas. Totally threw his toys out of the pram when I challenged him on it and, incredibly, never conceded that he was wrong about the moons orbit.

Sad but true. In forty or fifty years this is going to be a planet with at least half of its original fauna and flora either extinct, or on the brink of extinction. Not only the wild animals like polar bears or snow leopards which are so prominent in the news.
Myriad of insects, amphibians, lichens, little things, are specialists whose existence is intricately linked to one or two species of plant, or to a certain habitat. They will perish, because their food plants have gone, and their habitat destroyed.
Or vice versa, rare plants which depend on a single insect species for their pollination, will disappear without their winged allies. Slowly but surely the land will become barren.
But you know? Even then you will have your morons who blindly deny the obvious , deny Man's hand in that destruction.
I so hope I am wrong.

Damn, so depressing. But we're rushing headlong into it.

I strongly suspect that the glorious hi-tech, sci-fi future so often imagined in TV and movies will never come to pass. Instead, we'll just get the dystopian nightmare, also imagined in such TV and movies. Perhaps with a nuke or two thrown in for good measure.

We're floating somewhere between Idiocracy, Robocop (1987) and The Running Man at the moment. Going for Total Recall, Blade Runner, or Terminator would be steps up for us as a species.

Idiocracy for sure. That was a great film Arantor Not Sure.
You know that Coca-Cola sells a bottled water brand that has added electrolytes, right? They even call it smart water. It just needs the 'it's got what plants crave' at this point.

And don't get me started on the communication via smiley faces...

There will always be people who will want to refuse the evidence in front of them because they don't want it to be true. And wishing hard enough isn't going to make it so.

But this isn't going away, it *is* only going to get worse and the people with the power to do something about it are so unmotivated to do anything about it, that it's probably unstoppable anyway.

Our recent heatwave has brought out the climate change denying morons in force. You gotta see it to believe it.

Well....I didn't know that the "Heat wave was created Sunday night by aircraft dispersing substances that blocked the sun and created a heat dome...." please take note of this scientific explanation by a Chief Moron.

Why don't they just stick their head in the toilet and pull the chain!!!

I have this hat here, it’s made of tin foil and has the reflecty side outwards to reflect the mind control rays off me!
Lucky you! Where did you get this pointy hat, at tkmaxx maybe?
I did look online but could find no hat of such description.

It came in a long squarish box. Sort of thing that Toblerone would come in, if Toblerones were squares not triangles. I had to fold it myself - that way I could check both sides for any gaps or cracks that would let the mind control rays in.

Had to borrow my neighbour's religious headwear - one of them collander things - to get it properly curved.

I just read your answer and I am sitting here laughing out loud.....but no, really, jokes apart, handy to have nice neighbours with the appropriate headgear, and nice of then to let you borrow it.

I've been trying to find some statistical data on the history of the hottest summers on record. I can't seem to find what I want, but my point would have been temperature patterns comes in waves based on so many forms of measurement. I'm glad we can measure all of this data now and chart it. I believe common sense scientists will be able to give their best advisement based on long term statistical data, where countries can best design an earth stewardship plan. The only snafu in this plan is not all countries are willing to participate.

Do as I say, not as I do! The privileged few and their attitudes towards the common masses. Just infuriates me how they justify how it's okay for them.
