As I have said, facts are facts, no matter where they come from if they are backed up with evidence.
Folks may not like the messenger, but it does not change the message.
Now our Congress MAGA/GOP critters passed a resolution that one day lasts for the full term of this Congress so that they don't get their feet held to the fire on having to take a vote that might make Trumpty Dumpty mad at them.

I really don't see how anyone that prefers facts backed with evidence over fantasy can look people in the eye when they try to defend this kind of stuff.

Exactly. So many people allow themselves to be influenced others which makes for headbanging arguments with them. They lose all credibility, too.

Musk and his DOGE idiots want to eliminate phone support for Social Security.. but they want to kill it.
They want Americans to go to kill their ability to go to their local social security offices for claims.. meanwhile, they are closing office after office. They "push" them to the internet... meanwhile even reducing those services.
For the older folks that don't have internet... guess what... they could not use that avenue. But amazingly... when being bitch slapped with reality, that pursuit is reversed because they realized it would "hurt" the GOP idiocy.

But the "sig heil" group will follow their leerless feeder.

Ohhhh!
The impact of facts. Trump whines about editing of Harris's comments (and files a lawsuite)... yet his idiots are edited to show what was not factual...

Ouch... a Republican with balls? You may not agree with some of his stances... but it's abnormal for a GOP member to cave into Trumps wants over their principles.

The irony... quality reporting compared to biased that most of MAGA relies on. This commentator does not agree with Massey, but he's factual when it comes to the situation. But we all know that the MAGA cultist avoid facts like vampires avoid light.

Looks like Trump really does want to annex Canada and make into the 51st state. He's really nuts.

He needs to stay in the forefront of media. It's a weakness of those with a Napoleon complex (or commonly referred to as suffering from Napoleon syndrome) are impacted by. Small man syndrome at maximum volume.

Our Donny is tearing up the first amendment now. What did I say about predicting that he'd try to change the Constitution so that he can remain in power for a third term or indefinitely? While this isn't it, you can see which way this is going.

Here, we have him attacking free speech rights which is bad enough.

President Donald Trump is engaged in an all-out assault on speech rights aimed at forcing every sector of society to adopt his administration’s viewpoint or risk discrimination, punishment, and, in some cases, jail, revocation of rights and deportation.

This is the most concerted assault on free speech rights since “the McCarthy Era,” said David Cole, the former legal director of the ACLU and a law professor at Georgetown University Law Center.

“Here, too, you have a government targeting for retribution and for punishment [to] those with whom it disagrees ― and doing so across the board,” Cole said.

Trump silences Voice of America for being anti Trump. The whole organisation is now dead in the water in an instant because Trump doesn't like them. How does this not smack of totalitarianism? The kind of shit that happens in Russia? It's only gonna get worse from here. How long until well known liberal YouTube channels disappear like Brian Tyler Cohen and Adam Mockler? They're both being pressured already to stop.

Looking at their website seems normal at first, other than the articles are a little dated. Clicking on the latest ones reveals lates datest of 15th March, the day before. I guess it won't be long before the site drops off the internet, too.

All full-time staff at the US’s biggest international broadcaster have been placed on leave after Donald Trump ordered the government-funded agency to be scaled back for being “radical” and “anti-Trump”.

The 1,300 Voice of America (VOA) employees were informed of the decision via email on Saturday, US media reported.

Staff have been blocked from accessing the broadcaster’s offices in Washington, DC, meaning freelancers and stringers worldwide have had to stop working as there is now no way to pay them, an insider told CBS News.

Michael Abramowitz, Voice of America’s director, said nearly his entire staff of journalists, producers and assistants had been suspended, crippling the broadcaster that operates in almost 50 languages.

Honestly... not a big loss. In the "day", it served a purpose. But with the ease of jamming radio frequencies now, it can no longer do what it was able to do during the Cold War via radio, and the internet access can be problematic.
Even though it claims to be non-biased, it is. Just not necessarily along political party lines, but more so along ideological lines.
But at $268 million USD (yearly) budget, that is just a drop in the bucket.
What Trump and his cronies are doing their best to do is force a SC showdown to try to "force" them to rule that he has all-encompassing power, thinking that several are beholden to him. He is a purely transactional person and his attitude will show that clearly when he gets slapped down. I mean, look at his whining about Amy Coney Barrett siding with them despised liberals and the crap she's had slung at her now by him and his cronies/cult members because she did not march along the Trump line singing Die Fahne Hoch.

I've covered this before, but here's more on why Musk backed Trump. Basically, total corruption as he's now in charge of the regulator that's supposed to regulate his companies. Conflict of interest much?

Trump being played by Putin is hardly a surprise. Just look at how Putin took the mickey out of him immediately after that two hour phone chat they had:

His “ask” of his Russian counterpart was an unconditional ceasefire for a month. In return for that, Mr Trump had bullied Volodymyr Zelensky into agreeing to such a pause in the fighting with no future guarantees on Ukrainian security, ie the future of his nation. All Mr Trump gave to Mr Zelensky after the public punishment beating in the Oval Office was his word (no further comment on that), and a vague US-Ukraine “minerals deal”, which will materialise only in the long run, if ever. Putin, ever so politely, declined all that, save for a “partial” and conditional ceasefire on energy plants and “infrastructure” and some maximalist counterproposals.

Yet even this paltry undertaking of a limited ceasefire was dishonoured. Within hours the Russians had launched devastating attacks on a Ukrainian electricity sub-station powering the railway, and two hospitals. The humiliation of Mr Trump was complete, and Mr Zelensky vindicated.

This is one of Trump's biggest claims that Dems warned was a lie and that has now proved to be true.

When Donald Trump met President Zelensky in New York last September, the then US presidential candidate exuded confidence he could bring the war in Ukraine to an early end. "If we win, I think we're going to get it resolved very quickly," he said.

How quickly he meant varied over time. In a TV debate a few days earlier, Trump had promised he would "get it settled before I even become president". This was an escalation on his previous commitment in May 2023 to stop the fighting in the first 24 hours of his presidency.

Trump has now been in office for more than two months and the penny may be beginning to drop in the White House that trying to end a conflict as bitter and complex as this may take time.

Yep.... Trump only hires the bestest and the brightest peoples. Never mind that the majority of them have no knowledge of how to run what they oversee.
And they are ALL about getting rid of incompetents that work for the government... meanwhile they exude that very feature.
When you get Pete Buttigieg wired up enough to start cursing... pretty good indicator it's something that should be noticed.
Never mind Trump, who claims to have a firm grip on what his staff does, claims to have known nothing about it.
Pure shit show in action.

One very pissed off Canadian YouTuber at the damage that Trump is doing to his country, America and the rest of the world.

He's got an absolutely massive 4.1K videos on his channel and wanted to do another one, but he was so upset that he just couldn't focus on it that day and made this video instead. I can relate, totally.
